120911 “Acting-dols” Who Act Better than Actors

“Park Yoochun” The acting-dol whom even drama critics acknowledges
The return of Dong Bang Shin Ki’s “Micky Yoochun” to being “Park Yoochun” announced the birth of an acting gem. In the beginning, towards him whom challenged the route of an actor for the first time, the comments were not friendly, however, through acting in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, he overcame those controversies.
“Sungkyunkwan Scandal” which was broadcasted in 2010 was a widely popularised drama that had created many “Sungseu Paein”*. As the leading actors of a drama that focuses on young actors, Park Yoochun, Park Minyoung, Yoo Ah In and Song Joongki can easily add on to the controversies if they were reckless. However, the four of them brilliantly portrayed their characters, and not only did they raised the audiences’ involvement into the drama, they won acknowledgement for their acting as well. In particular, the acting that received the most attention was undoubtedly “Park Yoochun”.

The role of a righteous, upright scholar “Lee Sunjoon” was as if it had been custom-made, and he had determinedly portrayed the character of “Lee Sunjoon”. Unlike the initial controversies, he exhibited high quality acting skills, broke through the preconceived notion of “idols cannot act”, and established himself as an actor with good acting. In demonstrating this, through this “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” piece, he won a lot of awards that year. “KBS Acting Awards New Male Actor Award”, “Netizen Male Category”, “Baeksang Arts Awards TV Category New Male Actor Award”, etc, sweeping numerous awards, and established his status as an actor.

Park Yoochun exhibited diversified acting in “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, “Miss Ripley” and “Rooftop Prince”. What can be felt in his acting is the deep sorrows and joys of life. Just as his tough life story was before he became a celebrity, there is tender affection and ardent in his acting. An actor with outstanding acting skills, Park Yoochun. (We) anticipate his future acting projects.
*Sungseu is the short form for Sungkyunkwan Scandal, while Paein means disabled person; Sungseu Paein refers to fans of the drama who are so hooked they don’t do anything except for wait for drama updates
T/N: Unrelated parts to Yoochun are omitted; Other mentioned acting-dols are Jung Eunji and Choi Seunghyun.

Thanks Admin, I can read this over and over again. Let me share on twitter ^__^
“the acting that received the most attention was undoubtedly “Park Yoochun”.”
~~~ This! Some international drama fans might still think that Joongki and Ah In stole the show but in Korea, it has always been Yc.
“The role of a righteous, upright scholar “Lee Sunjoon” was as if it had been custom-made, and he had determinedly portrayed the character of “Lee Sunjoon”. ”
~~~ Could never imagine anybody portraying LSJ better than him. Never saw Yc the idol in SKKS but he was LSJ who came to life in my eyes. It felt like the role was made for him.
“broke through the preconceived notion of “idols cannot act”, and established himself as an actor with good acting.”
~~~~ In my memory, the first idol to ever truly break the public stigma of idols-turned-actors.
“Just as his tough life story was before he became a celebrity, there is tender affection and ardent in his acting. ”
~~~ His ability to empathize with the character’s hang-ups helps him get into the role and be able to convey emotions directly to the audience.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal will forever be my “crack” drama of all time. Just can’t get enough of it.
agree to all your comments!
imo if it weren’t yc who played as LSJ, even though Joongki and Ah in were great as well, SKKS would never be this successful!
TRUTH! Read some transripts of SKKS novel. Yc made LSJ charismatic in his own portrayal which melted the hearts of the public, especially the ahjummas who rule primetime drama viewing.
once again, can you give me the link? LOL i know i’m lazy…
Yes he portray LSJ in endearing way

THANK YOU @pian ONNIE!!! ^^
@pian
I’m just reading part 1, but how come the story looks like it’s made for yc? LSJ in the link you gave me has adam apple, wide shoulder, is very tall, very beautiful, well-manered, and very humble.. sounds like YC much?
@pian @petdino
yup, i remember back then fans saying that too… about how YC’s portrayal made LSJ very different from the original character in the novel…
yes, YC made LSJ charismatic but what struck me was that it was a different kind of charisma that you don’t usually find in similar stoic kdrama lead characters… YC’s LSJ had a softness, sensitivity, maturity and open-mindedness underneath the hard unflinching personality… these qualities made his LSJ strong and inspiring but also immensely likeable and endearing… viewers emotionally connected with LSJ, and women especially loved him
Even the SKKS script writer admitted she loved what YC had done with the LSJ character… and this kind of praise coming from someone who was initially not in favour of YC playing LSJ, is proof of the kind of feat YC has accomplished in turning the tides of criticism – he practically made everyone “eat their words”
@pian
Wow, how convenient. Thank you so much for the link! *bighuggies*
@petdino
“LSJ in the link you gave me has adam apple, wide shoulder, is very tall, very beautiful, well-mannered, and very humble”
Ikr? If somebody were to give me the above description and asks me to guess who she’s describing, the first person that came to mind would be none other than PYC…c’mon 6/6…even the Adam’s apple’s mentioned, haha.
Then again, since he’s fitted the mould of LSJ so perfectly, I mean physical appearance wise; I wonder why he still had to try so hard to convince the writer to let him play the role? I thought if an actor’s physical appearance fits a role so well, it’s already half battle won, no?
Or wait…maybe like me, the writer thinks he’s far from “very beautiful”…hahaha…
@kj

So true! That’s why until today, how many years since it was first aired?
2 years now? ~whenever anybody mentions LSJ, we can still connect with this character. YC’s planted the character LSJ in viewers’ minds, so well, that I think it’ll continue to stay in our minds for a long long time to come xDD~
@pian
“Sungkyunkwan Scandal will forever be my “crack” drama of all time. Just can’t get of enough of it. Me too, i became an addict with this drama. I can’t count how many times i’ve watched it already. And it was the lead actor PARK YOOCHUN who captivated me.
@chunlover
I swear, I lost count foo! xDDD~

Ooops sorry for the double posting.
I can’t still accept my first love lee soong joon is park yoochun, LSJ is my love PYC is my bad boy, his impression as LSJ is so deep
Lsj is my love PYC is my bad boy…. Lol but I used to see girls love bad boy to dead …. No mater what she say …. Hahaha ^___^
That’s how good he was in his portrayal. In real life, I think he has similar traits with the character that’s why he was able to connect with it unlike his role in Miss Ripley. He had a tough time with his role in MR because he could not empathize with the character’s thoughts, emotions and actions whenever Miri pulls a BS on him. LSJ will always be my favorite drama character.
Goody two-shoes guys are boring. Bad boys are challenging and keep you on your toes. A bad boy with a soft heart is endearing.
@pian
“Goody two-shoes guys are boring. Bad boys are challenging and keep you on your toes. A bad boy with a soft heart is endearing.”
Couldn’t agree more!
The Miss Ripley character really suffered due to bad writing. Bet YC was also expecting the character to change or grow in a more believable way after the big reveal of Miri’s true intentions. It’s a testament to his own personal likeability that viewers did not hate the character despite the frustration of seeing him being so easily used!
@pian
Hear, hear!! A big resounding YES to every single point you made!
Girl, you said it all *big hug*
Girl! *hugs you back*
you’re absolutely right when saying “~~~ This! Some international drama fans might still think that Joongki and Ah In stole the show but in Korea, it has always been Yc.” I don’t get it why IFans gave too much credits for YAI & Joongki’. I’m not saying that they weren’t portrayed perfectly their roles, but without PYC, SKKS was not that successful as it was. Some of them even said why YC got the award (KBS) ( instead of YAI or Joongki) becoz he’s a male lead (their selfish reason
) They’re simply judge his acting skill by his ‘title idol’, not by his skill.
I like ‘LSJ’ before I love PYC
You understand what i mean right? becoz I love his acting skill first as an actor and then his personality. If he hadn’t portrayed well as his own LSJ, how could I fall in love with his character. Some Korean fans said most international viewers didn’t feel 100% acting of the character because they have a little space of feeling while watching the drama with the subtitle as well as paying attention to character expression. So K viewers didn’t skip that part because they could feel his character right away when YC has delivered his saguek voice and his emotion. When I watch his drama, I usually stared him more than read the subtitle and as the result, I’d to repeat the part I miss
I love ‘LSJ’ not becoz he’s a lead male (as most anti/haters thought) (some drama I like 2nd male lead) but becoz YC knows how to portray his own LSJ. He made me like and then gradually and deeply fall in love with LSJ (like his person; can’t stop to love him
) Unlike other male leads, they try to make viewers like their character
I can’t compare which character I love more becoz each character’s its own unique strength. Lee Sun Jun is like ‘my 1st love’ (innocent but never forget
) and Lee Gak is like an ‘everlasting love’ I’m glad YC’d an opportunity to try with many good characters to build up his acting level. I desperately like him to try madness, devil, action, cool…stronger-type characters (not typical melodramas like crazy in love and then die and live again and crazy in love… i hate and boring to death
Please, I pray don’t accept that type of roles….but if you, Princey really wanna… i can’t help but support him
or impress their acting skills by showing off their acting skills. I call that process is ‘quickly impression and quickly forgetting’. This’s opposite with YC’s character. LSJ’s not the kind of character that’s fall in love with him with the first glance (so much like our YC-my feeling). But viewers have to take time to see, understand and feel that character. As LSJ, YC acted with an attitude that wasn’t forced viewers to like his character, but he made viewers follow, sympathy and gradually feel his character and then unknowingly fall in loved with his LSJ. He’s a skill that makes viewers can’t forget his LSJ, even the drama was ending long ago. His LSJ made a deep impression on my heart. Although, Lee Gak is daebak character (no reason to argue seriously !) LSJ is not easy character to forget (I’m not saying that becoz i’m his bias or something
sorry for the looooooooooong post kekeke
p.s: whenever mention to LSJ’ I’ve so much emotion
I watched SKKS some months after it ended and when I searched about the reactions I was surprised of all the love international fans had for Moon Jae Shin, for me his character was like many other rebelious characters I watched before, I liked Yeorim more he was funny and lighted up the mode.
But what surprised me the most was many people said LSJ was expresionless and I tought maybe I had watched other show because I think Yoochun did a fantastic job portraying the character. In the early episodes he didn’t show his emotions because of the way he was rised but with his personal growth and changing you can clearly see in his face how he struggled with his feelings, it was subtle but it was clearly there and it was in line with his personality. In my opinion his character was the hardest to play of the bunch, he had to convey his emotions with his eyes, little changes in his expression or in the voice.
So agree!
Those fans don’t know how to enjoy the storyline; they just like the cool character…but nothing else! So I’m not concern something like that!
Like you, I did search viewers’ comment about PYC and turn our I’s really disappointed how they said about him. How can they ask him to act cool like Moon Jae shin with that type of character
I think YC did make an incredible transformation from a tough/difficult scholar to a sweet/jealous typical guy (when having a true love). That’s the process of characteristic transformation. His job’s to make viewers realize the feeling of that transformation and fall in love with all his personalities from tough/difficult to sweet/jealous guy. And he’s doing a great job ☺ becoz he made us like/then love LSJ. We love LSJ not becoz of PYC, but becoz of his character he played.
MJshin’s a typical character →so true! He’s outside strong/quiet but inside sweet. I usually see this type of character, so I’m not interesting much
How could those fans compare YC to YAI or LYongki??? They’re fulltime actors and our YC just debuted the first leading male’s drama? So childish when comparing like that
Even Yongki and other pro-actors praised YC during filming the drama, not becoz of his professional attitude but becoz of his acting genius
@miki
well some ifans think that LSJ’s character is very similar to other main leads’ : cool and upright on the outside but lovely on the inside.. but I have to agree with you, YC did gave life to LSJ with his eyes and voice and everything.. LSJ is very different from other main leads’ character, although somewhat similar..
and yes YC should try different roles other than chaebol or lovely mushy stuff
@miki4yuu
“As LSJ, YC acted with an attitude that wasn’t forced viewers to like his character, but he made viewers follow, sympathy and gradually feel his character and then unknowingly fall in loved with his LSJ. He’s a skill that makes viewers can’t forget his LSJ, even the drama was ending long ago.”
BAD boy!! But I like, keke~
~~So true! I think this applies to PYC in real life too >.< I mean, he’s not the typical type of “idol” that thirsts for fans’ attention all the time, or always making sure his fans are looking his way but he sure has a way to make you fall for him…and WITHOUT you knowing!!
“not typical melodramas like crazy in love and then die and live again and crazy in love… i hate and boring to death”
I’m so with you on this one. No to boring melodramas, please!
@scp
Well said! Especially this >> “..his character was the hardest to play of the bunch, he had to convey his emotions with his eyes, little changes in his expression or in the voice.”
And him being a rookie actor, boy did a great job here.
@miki4yuu
“I think YC did make an incredible transformation from a tough/difficult scholar to a sweet/jealous typical guy (when having a true love). That’s the process of characteristic transformation. So agree, very well analyzed.
I like this: “We love LSJ not becoz of PYC, but becoz of his character he played.” << TRUTH!
@pian
Spot on comment, couldn’t agree more.
“Could never imagine anybody portraying LSJ better than him.”
Seriously, I don’t think there’ll ever be a better LSJ or LG than the ones played by PYC.
You see, the thing about YC is…like, when he covers a song, he has a way to make the song his own and likewise, he has a way to make the character that he plays his own, that’s what’s so special about him – be it as a singer or an actor, I guess.
@bubbly
hai bubbly ^^ true chunsa
I watched skks without knowing he was a singer and he left the deepest impresion on me among the jalgeum quartet. I loved his portray of Lee Sun Joon how he gradually opens himself to the world interacting with the other three. Of course he wasn’t perfect but he has it in him the talent and the charisma at least in my eyes.
When a watch a drama or a movie if I like an actor I search for their other works so I did that with Yoochun, I found he was an idol and I watched ayy girl, I was so inmersed in Lee Sun Joon character that it was a shock watching the perfect scholar with long wavy hair, eyeliner and dancing XDD.
I think Yoochun is the type of actor who needs to understand the character to immerse himself in the role and give his best, and in Miss Ripley he struggled a lot because he couldn’t do that, he said post RTP it was the pressure but I think the character was bad written too.
Fortunately with Lee Gak he has proved once again his gift as an actor, when he has good material he can be very good.
Now we are waiting for his new project it will be a drama most likely, but I’m dying to watch him in a movie in which he can fully immerse in his role. We all know how kdramas work, actors receive the script hours before filming, they have almost no sleep, there is no time for almost anything, everyone is overworked and in that way we cant fully see the true potencial of the actors.
Agree cant wait to see him in movie, his detail portrayal will be clearly showcase in movie. Many of sisters here already know my story, I was attracted by LSJ thought he is newbie actor who may not fashionable, I found him so handsome inacient attire I wonder will he look good or fashionable in modern attire I googled & there he is with million crazy hairstyles. He is the one that break my prejudice about idols.
Many people was atracted by LSJ and many get shocked with his crazy hairstyles XD, but now he has a good boy image at least people who know him only as an actor has this image of him so I want him to play a bad boy role, a gangster, an antihero something like that.
I will die to have high cut look in action, enough good boy
Me too same story with you and I really can’t wait to see him in new project , especial on movie^^
@anva
YC in movie? YES, pleaseeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! xDDD~
@scp
“Of course he wasn’t perfect but he has it in him the talent and the charisma at least in my eyes.”
Hey, in my eyes too, haha. Perfect? Not yet. Even the most veteran of actors is not perfect, let alone a newbie like YC. But he’s somehow got this thing in him that enables him to capture viewers’ attentions, to make the all important impression.
“I’m dying to watch him in a movie in which he can fully immerse in his role.”
Me too, movie next, please! …action/mystery would be good, haha…
My first love, you turn my life upside down since i’ve known u. Please don’t ever change, stay as u r, we promise to stay and support u as long as u want us too <3<3<3
@umeira
My first love too, he turns my life upside down, inside out…but I’m not complaining…hahaha…*bighugsss*
I wonder if these critics are men or women. Most men seem to not be able to evaluate him properly because he is so handsome, but professionals like this can see him so accurately.
I also wonder why men repel on him
@zan
Maybe they are jealous coz he’s not only handsome but can act well too?
@Lisa
I’m curious too if these critics are men or women, especially with an article like the above…
…it’s praises all the way!! hahaha~ makes me curious.
Also, is it written by a group of critics or just one critic, I wonder.
Nope, he’s got quite many male admirers too, I mean male who admire his works. Writer-nim, PD-nim……
@pian
agree with you, I like yc’s LSJ better than the original one.. the original one seems to be too direct in approaching KYH/KYS, and YC’s is more.. how can I say it? YC’s is lovelier and really suits YC’s personality. YC’s LSJ opens up in the perfect pace and ppl wouldn’t love him at first sight.. gradually, he is getting more and more interesting.. argh it’s so hard to explain this! lol but I guess you get what I’m trying to say ^^
@pian
my goodness.. I’m falling in love again with LSJ.. this is his line in the link: “Loving you only forever, even if you didn’t make a wish, to me that is the most natural thing to do. So I won’t consider it a wish and grant it to you.”
imagine YC saying those words! LOL
No matter what he does, Yuchun has this undertone that is so irresistible, masculine, sexy, deep… If it was all on the surface, it wouldn’t have the same effect. It becomes like a secret between you and him. Like you are the only one who understands him. Jaejoong referred to it as gentleness with strength underneath. But it is more than just strength. It’s really hard to get away from and becomes so addictive. Can never get enough.
@Lisa
Very well said, couldn’t agree more. Irresistible is Yoochun!!
” It becomes like a secret between you and him.”
SO TRUE!!!
YC doesnt showcase everything he has and that makes him even sexier… I’m so agree with you <3
the more I dig about him, the more I found out about him…
@petdino
“the more I dig about him, the more I found out about him…”
~and the more I found out about him, the more I love him, hahaha~ ok, that’s me!!
SAME HERE!!!
HIGH FIVE, bubbly!!
I actually love the way he dresses recently.. he’s getting more and more like a commoner these days.. looks more uncelebrity..
@petdino
Here you go, HIGH FIVE!!!
“he’s getting more and more like a commoner these days”
You are speaking like as if he’s a royal, lol…then again, he is a Prince!! ..in Chunsaland, haha…
well isn’t he?
Wow @Lisa
You always describe him so well… feels like you’re giving voice to my thoughts, only much better and more succinctly than me ~~hehe
“Yuchun has this undertone that is so irresistible, masculine, sexy, deep…If it was all on the surface, it wouldn’t have the same effect” >> So true.

” “Park Yoochun” The acting-dol whom even drama critics acknowledges.”
Highlight with neon-orange highlighter xDD~ *proud*
After watching SKKS, that is the time that I know Park Yoochun, honestly I am not very much impressed to his acting while watching SKKS but I did not say his acting here is bad or lousy that is a BIG NO..on my point of view need some improvement on his acting as a new comer in the field of acting his starting point was good and I could say at that time he is one of the promising actor, he has also a good future in the field of acting, what he needs is to improve his expression of his emotion. There is a saying Acting is not to act but Act naturally…on my observation he is good in delivering the line but sometimes timing of emotions a little bit missing … Like scene when they set up a date….on the point of cry….not much better for me, not unlike on the scene in Rooftop Prince after going back to Seaguk time and when they eat omurice and suddenly he remembered Pak Ha, … he show the perfect emotion on this scene. that is what I mean but . I love the character of LSJ than Lee Gak but the role of Lee Gak are more challenging because he has to act 2 different person aside from he so really charming on this movie. In Miss Ripley his character was good because if you are a versatile actor whatever character given to you even it is heavy or light, long or short you could play this well, but like what I said earlier at that time PYC needs to learn something… But there is a benefits when he accept this role because he has something to compare to his acting which is good and which is bad. and I think all bad feed back on this movie could help him to realize how to improve his acting abilities that is now he show it in Rooftop Prince. But one thing that I observe to PYC he has a charisma that he can hook the viewers to love him…. The more you watch him, the more you love him to watch you will never bored to watch this guy actually you become more interesting to him. Now, He know how to expressed his emotions….try to learn more…. and I believe he really BORN AS STAR. Just keep your feet on the ground always…. and you have a long long way to go…. And I am looking forward for your next movie or KDrama…. I hope another challenging role…
I never really praised YC’s acting, even in RTP. Ofcoz when I watch raw I always spazz like a crazy fangirl but genuinely I always think he can do better. More than a good actor, I would say he is a very natural one. Yoochun needs to learn more skills as he has more experiences. Many good actors are skillful, but Yoochun has this raw acting that sucks people in. I am always more into raw acting than skillful one. For ex, between Kang Dong Won and Wonbin, Wonbin obviously has more skills, but KDW’s acting is so raw that it is overwhelming, that is why I love him way more than Wonbin. Same case with Cha Tae Hyun, CTH never has a role that is so mentally heavy or violent challenged, but he is so sensible that people can relate to every single emotion that he tried to deliver. Ofcoz YC is no where near KDW and CTH but Yoochun is going that way, sensible and raw acting style. However, skills are still needed no matter what. Even if you have a born talent, you still need to master your skill to stay in a profession. Like someone said before, Yoochun will do very well if he is absorbed in the role, if he doesn’t understand the role, he will be awkward, that is because he lacks skills, which can be improved through time.That is why I want critics to not just praise him on what he did well, but also show him where he needs to improve. Yoochun learns quick like a sponge, if someone shows him where he is lacking he is able to make it.
The thing with acting is there are different styles, not all the actors decide to aproach a character in the same way.
If you take Hollywood as an example, in the beggining, with silent movies, actors had to gesticulate a lot to convey their emotions, nowadays those movies seem exagerated but at that time that was the proper style. When the sound appeared many actors lost their jobs, some of them because their voices were not suitable but many because they couldn’t change their acting into a toned version. In 20′s, 30′s and 40′s the style of acting was more based on technic but that changed with the actor’s studio and the method acting. Understand the psychology of the character was esencial and the actor had to use his own feelings to portray it. Many of the most acclaimed actors of the second half of 20th century were method actors, nowadays the method keep evolving but there are many professor who prefer other styles of acting. We could talk about italian neorrealism, nouvelle vague, etc, in all those periods of cinema directors tried to find new ways of expression and the style of acting needed was not the same.
So not all the styles of cinema or acting are for everybody it’s normal to prefer a style of acting over other.
Talking about Yoochun I think he is a method actor -I don’t know if he choosed this aproach of acting conciously or not- so he needs to understand the character and his motivations. But the thing with method actors is they keep getting better when they are pushed by other actors actions. – Yoochun said himself how Kim Gap Soo helped him to grow a lot – and by good directors who know how to motivate actors. That’s why I want him to star in a movie where he can take his time to understand the role, immerse himself and if his lucky with good actors and director who push him to the next level.
I writed a lot XD sorry if my english is not very good.
@kisschunnie
I’ve always been more into raw acting as well. Totally agree with you on KDW, though I do like WB a lot too
For me, the really skillful actors are often the veterans like the actor who played LSJ’s father in SKKS. The really good ones have the ability to give superb performances even if the writing or characterizations are bad. YC should definitely work on becoming more skillful coz it will help him act well even when he is unable to understand or empathize with the character. That, I believe, is the next big hurdle he needs to overcome in acting. But I also hope he never loses that lovely raw, natural vibe you talked about. That’s what makes him special
“Even if you have a born talent, you still need to master your skill to stay in a profession.” Absolutely right! Mostly you said I agree but I like to add some more
YC needs to improve more his acting skill obviously, but in order for him to achieve his goal, only YC’s acting skill not enough. We’ve to depend on the storyline, director, co-star…if the storyline’s bad, the character fails no matter A or B list actors. Like Miss Ripley, so many good actors but didn’t help much for the crazy storyline
@pazpranz
that last omurice scene in RTP may well be my favourite scene in the entire drama… for me, that scene shows his best acting so far in all three dramas he has done.
and the miss ripley experience was invaluable to him… it really woke him up to his weaknesses and through it he also learned how to deal with the immense pressure to live upto expectations
and this, i agree wholeheartedly >> ” But one thing that I observe to PYC he has a charisma that he can hook the viewers to love him…”
oh apparently it’s you, onnie, who talked about the last omurice scene!! I cried watching it again… TT probably yc himself was overwhelmed with the drama coming to the end so he could expressed LG’s feelings greatly.. omo I miss them so much!
@dino
yup that was me… it’s my most favourite scene!… it got me all choked up, you know the kind of feeling which is even worse that crying out openly?… it’s like you feel a deep sense of sadness settling when the realization hits you that LG will always, ALWAYS remember his love, miss her and LONG for her with full knowledge that he cannot EVER see her again… that scene was masterful and YC was simply perfect!
Yes that scene make choked with tears,that tear mean he will never meet her again & will miss for his whole life. He acted out perfectly.
“ “Acting-dols” Who Act Better than Actors”
Woah, this is too much!! Nah, our baby’s not that good, he’s still got plenty of rooms for improvements, but still…
…I’m very happy for him! xDDD~
I’m like: YES!! Our YC is one of them Acting-dols in the list *proud*, but…
…it would be better if the title is >> “ “Acting-dols” who can act better than SOME full-time Actors.”
For simple reasons, I just don’t wish to see anyone got offended because of the title and come jumping on my baby and start picking on him *erm, think butthurts
lol~* my baby doesn’t need that, thank you.
Yup, he sure is better than some full-time actors – even some popular and seasoned ones, so to speak. He’s a good actor, on his way to become a great actor, no doubt. He’s got it in him, a baby born to act, born with the “it” factor. The “it” factor that somehow helps him to connect with the character that he plays better and in turn, the viewers are also able to connect with the role that he plays better. I’m just glad that there’s yet another critic who is acknowledging this actor side of him and gave him the recognition that he so deserves.
Gosh, the more I say, the more I’m happy for him, haha. This is a great achievement in itself. I mean, to be recognized as comparable to them full-time actors and not a mere pretty face that crosses over to the drama department to gain popularity. That’s right, talk less, act more, and let your acting do the talking for you, baby.
I understand that “Moving Star” is a magazine; this article must have appeared in one of their columns.
I’m just curious, who’s the writer here? Just wanna say: Mr Writer, you’ve got good eyes, haha.
For him to be recognized as an actor who acts well…very well…
…that’s the biggest encouragement that YC can ask for and something worth celebrating.
Congratz baby! You did us proud.
“Sungseu Paein refers to fans of the drama who are so hooked they don’t do anything except for wait for drama updates”
Ah, interesting. And what do you call fans of Park Micky Yoochun who are so hooked they don’t do anything except to wait for updates on PYC???
xDDD~
“Ah, interesting. And what do you call fans of Park Micky Yoochun who are so hooked they don’t do anything except to wait for updates on PYC??? xD”
~~~~ Les Miserables
ROFL!!!
Bubbly dear,
OMG… you really make me laugh on that comment
@pian
You are the best! xDDDDDDDDD~
well said….well said !!! LOL
so like me kekekeeee
like idol…like fans
u like to troll us
But Yc does not take trolling very well. He likes to troll others yet he dislikes being trolled…
@pian
“He likes to troll others yet he dislikes being trolled”…. you can say that again… Park Trollchun knows only how to troll but is bad at being on the receiving end XD
Junsu truly must be an angel to take all the trolling so graciously, and being cute while doing it ^__^
Ah! Just look at that gorgeous LSJ. I’m in love with LSJ all over again.
@petdino where are you, my friend?
Have you spotted the lil’ mole above his lips yet, it’s obvious in these pics, haha…sexy!
@bubbly
I was busy reading the SKKS novel @Pian onnie gave me… and completely mesmerized by LSJ all over again
Hello, classmate!!
yes I see em now! sooooooooooooooooooooo tiny!!! SO CUTE!!!! can I pinch it???
oh my, now I see.. this mole has always been the trademark of people who have the ability to speak/use words well.. and I can see that in YC
@petdino
~it’s really cute, right. Cute like a baby, haha…
Finally! Ofc, it’s tiny, it’s a baby mole!
“this mole has always been the trademark of people who have the ability to speak/use words well”
Thanks to YC, I see some truth in what ppl claim, hahaha~
LSJ’s SKKS somewhat different LSJ’s novel becoz LSJ’s novel more stronger, naughty and perverse
this isn’t surprising. they (yoochun, eunji, t.o.p) stood out in their acting, even if they strip the “acting-dol” title. not every actor bound to be a very good actor, many rookie actors are awkward in their first drama, yet chunnie and others listed here did well.
@noiha
I was about to ask where’s @noiha, haha~ coz I need to hear from her on the other two acting-dols listed.
I wanna know if they are good, coz I don’t know them that well, hehe. So, they are good, huh?
Can we say that this is a no-nonsense article then, haha…
i don’t know much about t.o.p, only saw him in iris and he’s doing good. as for eunji, she’s really good — even for actress standard, and her co-stars also doing good (and most of them are also idol/singer-actors).
i just write this because many disagree with the title >< oh come on, this article isn't talking about veteran actors — they've belted numerous acting gigs for them to carry on awesome acting now. it's talking about actors in general and not every actor, whatever their background, is good at acting. uhm taewoong isn't good from the very beginning. lee dongwook also has his share of awkward acting. moon chaewon, hong soohyun, park siyeon, nowadays they know how to act, but in the beginning? it was awkward as hell. for these three young acting-dols, even if they're coming from idol background, to do well from the very beginning — even better than some actors, is something to be praised. ^^
@noiha
Hear, hear! Couldn’t agree with you more
I’m itching to try out Reply 1997. I’ve only seen good things being said about it. How would you rate it, dear drama guru noiha?
@kj: i’m not a drama guru. kke. 10/10!!!!!!!!!! nanananana~ xD it’s a good drama, but it’s a trendy one. you know, many good and inspiring dramas, but not “fangirl-y” enough to spazz. princess’ man and history of salaryman are good dramas, but there’s not much to spazz. skks is one good drama, and one worthy to spazz too. this drama is something like that for me, i guess. lol.
@noiha
ahh okay… i shall definitely try it then… thanks!
oh my… looking at all our praises for yc.. I hope more and more people who underestimated him at first will turn their hearts!
Wow!.. so glad to see the meaty discussions and expositions on acting and drama going on here.. will definitely need to come back later to finish reading all
someone said about LG in Jeoseon era eating omurice and he starts missing pak ha.. I went to rewatch ep 20 and I cried!! now I see, YC’s acting was so great there.. this was my 39820810th time watching ep 20 but I still cried -____-’ have to agree with you, he portrays LG’s feelings perfectly in that scene…
omo YC you really got my heart moving! lol.. keep up the great job!
I watched RTP so many times, can’t count
some lee gak’s scenes replayed so many times keekee haaa
i watched 19 and 20 alot , most of drama I don’t watch the ending too many times but RTP’s different. Especially, I love the scene 19 when lee gak hugged PHa and cried after TM hit her. I think YC’s so good when acting that part. His shocking eyes, his crying face and his shaking body are expressing so much emotion and impressed on me even that scene’s short. And his crying/smiling face after farewell kiss in wedding scene. I’m not a fan of watching a sad scene in a drama and then crying but RTP’s exceptional. I miss RTP again
